Building a stronger local economy—together

On September 12, 2025, the Oneida Indian Nation hosted Doing Business with the Oneida Indian Nation, a half-day conference for local businesses to learn more about the growth occurring across the Nation’s enterprises and the partnerships this growth is creating. During the event, Oneida Indian Nation Representative and Turning Stone Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter provided an update on this growth, including the $370 million Turning Stone Evolution and the $50 million Point Place Casino expansion, and opportunities for current partners and new vendors.

The event also included several panels with Turning Stone Enterprises leadership and some of the Oneida Indian Nation’s long-time vendors and partners. Topics discussed included what makes a great partner for the Oneida Indian Nation, how to build and operate a business on Nation land and hosting events with Turning Stone Enterprises. The conference concluded with a procurement fair, where attendees had the opportunity to meet with Turning Stone Enterprises leadership and purchasing agents to learn more about providing goods and services for the Nation’s business operations.

FAQS

Audience Questions from the Doing Business with the Oneida Indian Nation Conference

We received many questions during the Doing Business with the Oneida Indian Nation conference that we were unable to answer due to time constraints. As promised, we have listed the questions and responses below.

Are you open to working with vendors that are located out of state? Or national vendors with local representation?

We currently work with both local partners and vendors across the country. In many cases, we try to prioritize our regional partners; however, we evaluate all potential vendors on a variety of factors and always choose the strongest candidate, regardless of location.

What's on your horizon for the next 10 years? What are you looking to plan and design?

Our top priority is the continued growth and diversification of our enterprises and our primary business will continue to be hospitality. At the same time, we know that the Turning Stone Evolution will dramatically increase our meetings and events business in the immediate future.

When it comes to service work, how important are HVAC-R, plumbing and mechanical systems to your business?

All of these trades are extremely important to our enterprises. Our Facilities department works with a wide range of service providers and vendors across these fields and routinely partners with new providers. For more information, please fill out the form at the bottom of our Supply Chain page and someone will be in touch soon.

What advice would you give to an organization looking to engage with the Oneida Indian Nation for business opportunities?

The first step to partnering with the Oneida Indian Nation is making sure we have all of your information. Go to our Supply Chain page to share your name, contact information and some details about your business, and a member of our team will be in touch. Once we have your information, constant communication is extremely important. The best way to work with the Oneida Indian Nation is to stay connected for the latest info about new RFPs, other updates and more information about constantly evolving needs for goods and services.

Do you only work with companies of a certain size?

There is no specific company size we prefer when choosing vendors and other partners. In some cases, we may look to larger companies with greater capacity. In others, a smaller, more nimble and better positioned organization may be a better choice. Overall, we are looking for the highest quality and best partnership, regardless of size.

Could you provide examples of other types of businesses that lease land from the Oneida Indian Nation and types of businesses you are interested in building similar relationships with?

To date, we have partnered with developers, retail operations and restaurants as lessees. We are always interested in expanding our land leasing partnerships with businesses of all kinds. If you are interested in starting, expanding or operating a business on Oneida Indian Nation land, please contact us via the Supply Chain page.

Do you have any plans for a brewery or distillery on Nation lands in the near future?

What is the largest number of people you can accommodate for corporate events?

Today, Turning Stone Resort Casino can accommodate events for up to 1,500 guests with over 100,000 sq. ft. of meeting and events space and 788 hotel rooms. These numbers will increase dramatically with the Turning Stone Evolution, which will make the resort the largest conference destination in Upstate New York and one of just three venues of similar size and caliber in New York State.

The Turning Stone Evolution includes the new Grand Expo conference and events center, The Crescent Hotel and other new amenities. When complete, the resort will offer more than 200,000 sq. ft. of meeting and events space and 1,046 guest rooms and suites, allowing us to host large scale events and multiple smaller gatherings.
